How do you restore oxidized plastic on an ATV?
Linseed Oil Oils will generally restore faded plastic. The best oil for this is linseed oil. We got this idea from the following video, where the ATV owner mixes Linseed oil with paint thinner in a 40/60 ratio. The paint thinner helps the linseed oil dry faster and prevents an oily sticky residue on the plastic.
How do you make dull plastic shiny?
A petroleum jelly or any ointment which uses a petroleum base can be expertly used to shine dull plastic. You will simply need to rub the jelly onto the plastic, leave it untouched for a minute or so, and then wipe it off. And, voila, your dull plastic isn´t dull anymore.
Can you restore sun faded plastic?
After you wash the plastic, dry it off well with a clean, dry cloth. If you’ve got white plastic that’s faded to yellow, you can actually restore it with hydrogen peroxide! Tape off or cover any colored areas with some clear tape or masking tape so they’re protected.

Polishing with Toothpaste or Baking Soda Toothpaste and baking soda are both mild abrasives that you can use to polish plastic. For deeply etched or discolored plastic, squeeze non-gel toothpaste directly onto the surface and rub it in a circular motion with a microfiber or cotton cloth.
Can you buff ATV plastic?
No need for any paint or Plastic renew or any of that crap. Wet sand then buff it out. Keep in mind plastic is the same color all the way thru so sanding isn’t going to be a problem. Depending on how horrific your scratches are is what grit to start with.
How do you remove scratches from plastic ATV fenders?
The best way I’ve found for removing light scratches is to go with some 1500 Grit Wet Sandpaper. Just use the sand paper over the areas with scratches and buff it out when you’re done. You could finish up with a coat of the plastic restorer I talked about above to make it look brand new.
